Unique adventure just for Maverick Mums
In 2022 when I was pregnant with Savannah I travelled to Imire in Zimbabwe with my older daughter Mia to volunteer on their rhino and wildlife conservation project. I was so moved by the experience, and by watching Mia connect so deeply with nature, wildlife and a completely different way of life, that I knew I wanted to create something similar for other families.
In collaboration with Imire, we are now creating a truly unique adventure exclusively for Maverick Mums families.
This is an opportunity to completely immerse yourselves in a new country and culture, experiencing day-to-day life in Africa first-hand – all whilst supporting an important conservation project and creating unforgettable memories together as a family.
Throughout this rewarding adventure we’ll spend time alongside conservation experts, gain hands on experience with wildlife and nature, and reconnect through outdoor living, campfires, bush walks, storytelling and shared adventure.
There’ll also be opportunities for safari drives, kayaking, bushcraft, tracking wildlife, cultural experiences, nature connection activities and plenty of time to simply slow down and enjoy being together in the wild.
This adventure is about more than just seeing Africa – it’s about stepping away from busy everyday life, swapping screens for sunsets, reconnecting as a family and creating memories that will stay with you forever.
You don’t even need to rough it as we will stay in the beautiful purpose-built Chiwawe Wilderness Camp, situated in the wild section of Imire. A magical spot with a bar, fire pit and BBQ area – watch rhinos browse and giraffes graze from your verandah as you relax and reconnect.
What will you do with your one wild and precious life?
About Imire
A family-run conservancy, focussed on conservation and community, offering a unique way to experience wildlife conservation first-hand.
Wildlife in Africa is under threat from illegal poaching, over-population and habitat loss. Conservancies like Imire play a vital role in protecting endangered animals whilst also supporting local communities and conservation education.

Accommodation
The camp is in an idyllic spot with a bar, fire pit and barbeque area – watch rhinos browse and giraffes graze from your verandah as you relax. Families will stay in safari-style tents, each with an en-suite bathroom with hot and cold running water, a flush toilet and shower.
The remote location of Chiwawe allows families to fully immerse themselves in nature within a diverse ecosystem. There are no fences around the camp and wildlife roams freely through the area, including black rhinos that regularly wander nearby.
You will receive three home-cooked meals a day during your stay, made by our wonderful cooks and served buffet style. Clean, safe drinking water is provided. Dietary requirements can be catered for, please let us know before you arrive.
The unpredictable nature of animals makes it impossible to predict exactly what the itinerary will look like – this is all part of the fun of real adventure – but you can expect incredible wildlife encounters, beautiful scenery, unforgettable sunsets and memories your family will talk about for years to come.
Fully hosted & supported
The adventure will be hosted by Rhiannon and Luke, who will be supporting families throughout the experience and helping create a relaxed, welcoming and adventurous environment for both adults and children.

Together, they’ll help create a week that feels supportive, exciting, memorable and genuinely special for families travelling to Africa.
