All You Need to Know About the Upcoming Rewilding Adventure Retreat in Zimbabwe

Motherhood can be beautiful, but it can also leave us feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, and like we’ve lost ourselves along the way. I’ve been there - exhausted, anxious, and wondering if I’d ever feel like me again.

If you’ve ever longed to step away from screens, deadlines, and constant noise, to reconnect with yourself and nature, this retreat is designed for you. The Rewilding Adventure Retreat is a unique, fully supported journey for women seeking adventure, restoration, and connection - all set against the extraordinary landscapes of Zimbabwe.

What Is a Rewilding Adventure Retreat?

Imagine waking at dawn in a safari tent, the first light spilling across the bush. From your veranda, you might spot zebras grazing, antelope moving silently, or even a rhino at the watering hole. The air is cool and alive with birdsong. Each day begins slowly, in harmony with the rhythms of the land - no rushing, no notifications, no lists to tick off.

Evenings are spent around the fire, sharing stories, laughter, and silence under star-strewn skies. This is not just a holiday. It’s a chance to pause, reconnect with yourself, with nature, with others, and with the ancient land beneath your feet.

What Does 'Rewilding Mean?

Rewilding can mean landscapes returning to their natural state. It can also be deeply personal - a return to instinct, to presence, to what feels real.

On this retreat, rewilding is about remembering how to be human. It’s the moment you stop running, stop distracting yourself, and instead breathe, feel, and connect. It might be the stillness of sitting by the fire, the exhilaration of an outdoor adventure, or simply the relief of giving yourself permission to rest.

At its core, rewilding is about coming back - to yourself, to nature, and to what truly matters.

The Four Connections You’ll Explore

Connection to Yourself
This retreat invites you to turn inward, slow down, rest, reset, and rediscover who you really are. Activities range from gentle hikes to conservation work, all designed to guide your personal journey.

Connection to Each Other
Women have historically lived in supportive communities. Today, we often shoulder life’s burdens alone. Here, you’ll be part of a small, supportive group of women, reconnecting with the power of community through shared meals, fire circles, and daily rituals.

Connection to Nature
Nature is not just a backdrop — it is teacher, mirror, and companion. Living close to the land, you’ll experience its cycles and rhythms, and feel your place within them.

Connection to Something Bigger
Set at Imire Conservancy, one of Zimbabwe’s leading conservation projects, the retreat allows you to support endangered species such as elephants, rhinos, and cheetahs. You’ll also engage with local communities, gaining a tangible sense of belonging to a larger, interconnected world.

Why Zimbabwe?

For many, Africa offers a sense of home. Its red earth, expansive skies, and timeless landscapes have a way of opening hearts, sparking curiosity, and connecting us to something primal. Zimbabwe, just 90 minutes from Harare, is a place to feel both humbled and fully alive.

Conservation at the Heart

The Rewilding Adventure Retreat is deeply tied to Imire Conservancy’s conservation efforts. Half of your retreat fee goes directly to protecting wildlife, including rhinos, elephants, cheetahs, giraffes, and more.

You’ll also have the opportunity to contribute to hands-on projects: maintaining the conservancy, assisting with wildlife research, supporting anti-poaching initiatives, and engaging with local communities. This is a retreat where your personal growth directly contributes to the wellbeing of the land and its inhabitants.

Accommodation & Comfort

The retreat balances comfort with wild adventure. You’ll stay in shared safari tents within a beautiful bush camp, with a swimming pool, shared lounge, and fully catered meals. It’s close enough to nature to feel immersed, yet comfortable enough to feel cared for.

Daily Rhythm & Rituals

Each day has a gentle rhythm designed to hold the week together without pressure:

  • Rise and Rewild: Start the day with meditation, mindfulness, and gentle movement to awaken your body and mind.

  • Reflect and Reset: Close the day with journaling, gratitude practices, or group check-ins, grounding yourself before sleep.

You’ll also have access to tools for life, such as breathwork, sit spots in nature, and other practices that you can carry home.

Community & Culture

This is a small, women-only retreat with a maximum group size of 10. Together, you’ll co-create a supportive environment, sharing stories, music, and quiet moments. You are invited to contribute your own gifts, whether a poem, song, or wisdom. By the end of the week, you’ll have been part of a close, caring temporary family.

What Makes This Retreat Different?

This is not about pushing or proving anything. It’s about gentle adventure, curiosity, and rest. You choose your level of participation.

What makes it unique is the combination of personal rewilding and meaningful contribution. You’ll nurture your own wellbeing while helping protect wildlife and support local communities - a rare blend that leaves both you and the world changed.
