Explore Outdoors with Confidence
Objectives:
By the end of the day, the attendees will have:
An increased understanding of the world around them when outdoors
Learnt introductory map reading skills
Increased confidence planning and following a route
Join us for a day of adventure and empowerment in the great outdoors! Whether you're keen to learn to read a map or are just starting to dip your toes into nature's wonders, this event is designed to boost your confidence and enhance your outdoor skills so you are ready to get out there independently.
Get to know the outdoors in depth through nature connection activities and build confidence to go on your own walks by learning navigation tips. You’ll go away with a sense of freedom, feeling empowered to explore independently and knowing more about the world around you.
Things to consider
You don’t need to be fit and speedy but you should expect to walk at least 5miles/8km on uneven paths and trails, up a couple of steady hills and over a stile or two.
Wear supportive, grippy footwear, bring layers/waterproofs, packed lunch and a drink. See the kit list for more info.
Participant info: to include medical/additional learning needs, photo consent, contact info, emergency contact details. Please share with me 1 week in advance of the event.
